After a very active night with severe weather, Monday started with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms. A warm front will move northward from the Louisiana coast through Baton Rouge and into Mississippi by early afternoon, WBRZ Meteorologist Dave Nussbaum wrote in the station’s weather blog.
Very warm and humid air will come from the Gulf of Mexico, causing numerous showers and thunderstorms to develop all afternoon. The showers and storms will continue this evening ahead and along a squall-line, associated with a cold front, that will move into Baton Rouge.
Once the cold front moves through this evening the storms will come to an end and skies will be cloudy with temperatures dropping to the low 40s.
