Chris Carr, a Lake Charles native who recently served as a consultant for 6th District U.S. Rep. Garret Graves’ campaign, has been named political director for the Republican National Committee’s 2016 effort.
Carr, who grew up in Sulphur and attended McNeese State, previously worked for the RNC during the 2012 cycle.
“I’m excited to welcome Chris back to the RNC, and I’m confident he’s going to lead our Political Department to even greater success in 2016,” RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said in a statement.
Carr’s work will include focusing on voter turnout efforts and field operations heading into the presidential election.
“The stakes are high,” Carr said in a news release. “Winning the White House will require an operation unlike any we’ve seen before, but with a laser-like focus on mechanics, our department will do its part to ensure there’s a Republican at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in just two years.”
