A Baton Rouge man has been arrested in a robbery of a store owner at gunpoint, stealing money from the store and the victim, and shooting the victim in the leg, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Roderick J. Gray, 23, 1350 Sora St., was booked late last week by the Baton Rouge Police Department with attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery and felon in possession of a firearm, according to the affidavit.

During the robbery, which took place just before 4 p.m. on July 20, Gray pointed his gun at the victim and fired several shots at point blank range, the affidavit says.

The victim was hit in the leg while other bullets narrowly missed the upper portion of the victim’s body and face, the affidavit says.

Gray got away with the victim’s wallet and as well as cash from the register, the affidavit says.

The victim told police he knew Gray personally and identified Gray in a photo line-up as the man who robbed the store, the affidavit says.
