Opening receptions are scheduled for two upcoming area exhibits.

Frameworks Gallery, 8501 Highland Road, Baton Rouge, will open a show featuring works by Rosemary Goodell and Van Wade-Day with a reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, May 16.

Reminiscent of traditional still lifes, Wade-Day’s collection of works on paper feature floral and organic forms, while Goodell’s experimental printmaking techniques showcase bold shapes and colors.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.

Also, Three Rivers Gallery, 333 East Boston St., Covington, will open “Ferrous and Flora: A Vision via the 19th Century Photographic Process of Wet Plate Ambrotype” by Robert Dutruch with a reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 10.

“ Ferrous and Flora represents the hard and cold versus soft and delicate; one forged by the earth the other cultivated by nature,” Dutruch said.
