Tin Roof Brewing Company has another seasonal beer coming.
The Baton Rouge-based brewery announced Friday that it will release a Rusted Rye IPA in the first week of May.
According to a press release, Tin Roof head brewer Alex Daigrepont said the beer’s name comes from a line from The B-52’s song “Love Shack.” The flavor of the beer is just as fun as the song, too.
“Rusted Rye IPA is a beer with multi-layered flavors and a pay load of hops,” Daigrepont said.
The beer has a spicy black pepper bite and the aromas of orange, lemon, grapefruit, and a hint of melon.
The beer will be packaged in cans and featured on draft at select bars and restaurants.
Rusted Rye IPA will make its debut at the brewery’s Salt & Smoke Festival on Saturday, April 23. The festival will feature Kevin Callaghan of Durham, North Carolina, serving up whole hog and oysters. Tickets to the festival are $45 online and $50 at the door. All ages are welcome.
