Champions for Children 2

With some former Tigers on the lanes, this promises to be a fun fundraiser.

WHAT: Champions for Children 2, a bowling fundraiser for Heritage Ranch, a Christian children’s home.

WHEN: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

WHERE: Metro Bowl Baton Rouge, 4388 Airline Highway.

DETAILS: Among the special guests are former LSU football great Joseph Addai and head basketball coach Trent Johnson. Athletes and coaches will be on hand to mingle with fans and sign autographs in the carnival-like atmosphere with kids games, cotton candy and snowballs. Live and silent auctions will feature signed items donated by athletes.

Pride Fest

In its fifth year, this festival brings together entertainment and community resources.

WHAT: Baton Rouge Pride Fest.

DETAILS: Nonprofit organizations, groups and businesses will participate in a resource fair, while artists such as Josh Duffy, Daphne MuShatt, the New Orleans Gay Men’s Chorus and Baton Rouge’s Krewe of Divas will provide the entertainment.
