Holiday Specials set at SoFAB museum

Louisiana children and their families can get in the Mardi Gras spirit with a hands-on king cake decorating demonstration from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Southern Food and Beverage Museum, 1504 Oretha C. Haley Boulevard, New Orleans.

Admission to the museum will be free to Louisiana children and their families with a Louisiana driver’s license.

Holiday Specials presented by Domino Foods Inc., is providing free admission to SoFAB one Saturday each month in January, February and March for Louisiana’s kids and their families to visit and make traditional holiday treats.

Cocktail seminar series debuts at MOTAC

The Museum of the American Cocktail in New Orleans will present “King Cocktail in Story and Song: Dale DeGroff in Conversation with Philip Dobard,” at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 5.

The event is the debut edition of “Touring the Cocktail: MOTAC New Orleans,” a monthly series of cocktail and spirits seminars. The presentation will take place in the Rouse’s Culinary Innovation Center by Jenn-Air inside the Southern Food and Beverage Museum, 1504 Oretha C. Haley Boulevard.

Tickets are $40 for SoFAB-MOTAC and USBG members, $50 for general admission in advance, and $60 at the door (if available).
