A Nashville, Tennessee band known for its impressive live shows will return to Baton Rouge this spring.

Moon Taxi will perform April 5 at the Varsity Theatre. Doors open at 7 p.m. The show starts at 8 p.m. General admission tickets are on sale for $25 at ticketweb.com. Tickets are $28 on the day of the concert.

The band is no stranger to the Highland Road venue, having previously played there in September 2015 and March 2017.

Last week, the band released its fourth full-length album and major label debut, "Let the Record Play," a more pop-tinged affair full of big beats, hooks and island rhythms.

In 2015, Moon Taxi released its breakout "Daybreaker," produced by Jaquire King (whose credits include Modest Mouse, Kings of Leon). The album features the singles "Year Zero" and "All Day All Night."

The Baton Rouge stop is one of many for the band this year in support of the new album. The tour also features performances in Knoxville, Tennessee; Fayetteville, Arkansas; Houston; Oxford, Mississippi; and Mobile, Alabama. The band also will perform in June at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee, and in July at the Sloss Music & Arts Festival in Birmingham, Alabama.
