The DeBose National Piano Pre-College & College Division Competition is set for Friday and Saturday, April 19-20, in the Southern University Department of Music and Scotlandville Magnet High School Auditorium.

Instituted in 1974, this annual program commemorates the life and artistic contributions of professor and pianist Tourgee Albion DeBose, first chairman of the Southern University Division of Music. Adjudication events will take place at Southern University; while all performance events will take place at Scotlandville Magnet High School.

The festival also will feature guest artists, pianist Wilfred Delphin and soprano Valerie Jones Francis, in a collaborative performance.
