A taste of Lafayette is coming to Baton Rouge.

Lafayette’s Rêve Coffee Roasters is expanding into the Capital City and will open a location in the upcoming White Star Market.

Nathaneal Johnson began Rêve in Eunice. In 2015, he opened a store on Jefferson Street in downtown Lafayette. White Star owner Clark Gaines said in a press release that he’s excited about Rêve coming to Baton Rouge.

“Nate is doing some amazing things with coffee that Baton Rouge has yet to experience first hand,” Gaines said. “I am very confident he will be successful with us at the market.”

Johnson said he will be very involved in the Baton Rouge community, too.

“Since the beginning, my No. 1 goal has been to engage with customers and create an outstanding experience around coffee,” Johnson said. “Being involved in the local community is extremely important to us, and we are excited about bringing our passion to coffee and community to White Star Market, and Baton Rouge as a whole.”

Other restaurants and vendors planned for White Star Market include Jay Ducote’s Gov’t Taco; Jesse Romero’s Robear Ln..; Michael Mangham’s Another Silver Spoon; Jolie Pearl Oyster Bar; and Micah Martello’s Fete au Fete.

White Star Market is set to open in Baton Rouge in the Square 46 development on Government Street in Mid City. Construction is slated to begin later this spring, with an anticipated opening date coming in 9 to 10 months.
