Extra: Salario is a fourth-year volunteer at Woman’s Hospital, and has been placed in the Maternal/Fetal Medicine department at Woman’s for her first of two rotations.
The Junior Volunteer program at Woman’s is made up of high school students from?Baton Rouge?and the surrounding parishes, most of whom plan to pursue careers in the medical field.?The program gives teens a chance to experience the field of health care first-hand, and offers them some positive summer enrichment. Based on their interest, each teen is assigned to a supportive area and a clinical area during their 10-day session.
Salario also participates in a dance class and won a service award at her school.
