Celebrate the golden age of Hollywood Friday night and help raise funds for the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden.
“Cocktails in the Garden” is a new nonprofit, fundraising event for the Botanic Gardens, 4560 Essen Lane, Baton Rouge.
The event will feature beverages created by local mixologists, samples of some of Baton Rouge’s best cuisine, and the music of Ned Fasullo and the Fabulous Big Band. It will be held from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, with cocktails beginning at 6:30 p.m. for VIP guests.
General admission tickets are $40 per person and VIP admission is $50 per person. For tickets, go to EventBrite.com and search Cocktails in the Garden.
Funds raised will be used to help maintain and add features to the existing gardens, according to Michelle Miller Fuller, public relations and event coordinator for the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens. Most of the funds will go to the Project Learning Tree Foundation for elementary schools to learn about Louisiana agriculture, ecology and animal habitats.
Brian Harris BMW, Blush Magazine and People’s Health are the primary sponsors of the event. Among the mixologists participating in the event are those from Galatoire’s Bistro, Duvics Martini Bar, Blend, Olive or Twist, and Kona Grill, all in Baton Rouge.
