FOOD PICKUP VOLUNTEERS, Happi Llandiers — Helen Whitfield and Peggy Casanova, (225) 635-2301: Volunteers are needed to help pick up food from the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank on the third Tuesday of the month and deliver to the Happi Llandiers’ St. Francisville location. This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity.

EVERYBODY READS, Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) — Tony Pryer, (225) 226-4703 or Volunteers are needed for the upcoming school year. Each year, over 1,600 pre-K through second-grade students, who could benefit from one-on-one tutoring with a caring adult, are recommended by their teachers to participate in EveryBody Reads. Reading Friend volunteers are recruited, screened and trained by VIPS. Volunteers are asked to meet one-on-one for 30-45 minutes with his/her student on a consistent basis throughout the school year.

REBUILDING BATON ROUGE, Rebuilding Together — Chris Andrews, (225) 358-7200 or Volunteers are needed to assist with neighborhood projects, including rebuilding and repairing homes for the elderly and the disabled. Individuals and groups are needed.
