Each year, over 1,600 pre-K through second-grade students, who could benefit from one-on-one tutoring with a caring adult, are recommended by their teachers to participate in EveryBody Reads. Reading Friend volunteers are recruited, screened and trained by VIPS. Volunteers are asked to meet one-on-one for 30-45 minutes with his/her student on a consistent basis throughout the school year.
