HOME INSTEAD HONORS PICKNEY: Renee Pickney received the January Caregiver of the Month from Home Instead Senior Care General Manager Sandy Hull on Feb. 22. Pickney has served clients at Home Instead for three years and this is her second Caregiver of the Month honor.

Also, shortly before receiving the award, Pickney’s quick reaction likely saved a client’s life. A client was in the kitchen eating while Pickney walked into the other room to let the dog out. Pickney heard the client bang on the table and ran back in to find the client choking. Pickney performed the Heimlich maneuver three times and dislodged the food from the client’s airway.
