Kids’ Orchestra will offer two weeks of music camp beginning Monday, June 19. In addition to learning an instrument of their choice over the course of each week, students will interact with local musicians representing diverse styles, including:

  • A master class with Preservation Hall Legacy Band, the premiere ensemble of the most tenured artists from the greater Preservation Hall musical collective
  • Performance from string quartet Magnolia Strings, led by Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra concertmaster Borislava Iltcheva
  • A field trip to Baton Rouge Music Studios to record with Baton Rouge chamber-folk band Minos the Saint
  • A demonstration from the Storyville Stringband, an acoustic traditional jazz ensemble from New Orleans
