10/31 Consortium, the organization that stages Baton Rouge's Halloween Parade, kicks off its monthlong Fifolet Halloween Festival with its fifth annual Ghostly Gala masquerade ball Saturday night at the L'Auberge Event Center.

"Rhythm & Boos" is the theme of this year's gala and the parade. Queen Judy Rockforte Gonzales and King Mark Bounds will reign over the events.

While proceeds from the gala help further the organization's initiatives of creating a safe and happy Halloween for children in the greater Baton Rouge area, the gala is for those 21 and older. It features an open bar, full buffet including desserts, door prizes, raffle drawings, costume contest, table-decorating contest, dancing, games, live entertainment, live music and a DJ. The dress code is costume or "creative formal." Guests bringing a nonperishable food item or child-size Halloween costume donation will get door-prize tickets.

The gala officially gets underway at 8 p.m. but RIP upgrade ticket-holders get in at 7 p.m. and can start dancing to the sounds of Three Lone Sharks an hour early. DJ Mikelarry takes over at 9 p.m. and keeps the party going until midnight. Throughout the night, GymFit will entertain with circuslike performances.

Tickets are $125 and $100 for members. Party goers can decorate their tables from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. For tickets or more information, visit 1031consortium.com.
