Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, the regular Thursday Market will be closed. There will be a market Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon behind the center at 6400 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge.

Both the Main Street Market and the Red Stick Farmers Market will also be open Saturday.

Louisiana Purchase, credit and debit cards are accepted at both locations of the Red Stick Farmers Market.

Covington Market

The Covington Market is open from 8 a.m. to noon each Saturday on the side lawn of City Hall, 609 N. Columbia St., and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Wednesday at the Covington Trailhead, 419 N. New Hampshire.

In this week’s cooking demonstration, Mac’s on Boston Street will serve seasonal items from their menu.

Fresh produce will include tomatoes, peas, eggplant, squash, peppers, potatoes, cucumbers, onions, greens, turnips, cabbage, bok choy, beets, broccoli, cauliflower, satsumas and other citrus.

Seafood, meats, dairy products, eggs, honey, herbs and prepared foods will also be available.
