Mock Devonshire Cream
Makes about 3 cups. Recipe is from “LSU Union Leisure Class 1997,” contributed by Melinda Winans. Winans says she found the recipe in “The British War Brides’ Cookbook.” The cookbook was compiled by British women living in Baton Rouge who had moved to the United States after World War II.
1 (3-oz.) pkg. cream cheese at room temperature
1/2 cup sour cream or sour cream alternative
1 tbl. confectioners’ sugar
1/2 cup heavy cream, whipped
Blend cream cheese, sour cream and confectioners’ sugar, then blend in the whipped cream. Can be stored in the refrigerator for several days.
