DETAILS: Summer’s warmer temperatures mean it is important to handle foods safely. Barbara Templet, a registered nurse and child care health consultant certified with the state Department of Health and Hospitals, will speak about food safety. Food Safety Certificates of completion from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals will be available to staff of day care centers and child care providers upon completion of this seminar.
WHAT: Epilepsy Awareness Walk and Breakfast

DETAILS: One-mile walk will be followed at 8:45 a.m. with breakfast and family fun activities. Registration fee includes walk, T-shirt, breakfast and activities.
WHAT: Registration is now open for Forum 35’s Reindeer Run and Jingle Bell Jog
WHEN: Races are Dec. 4. The one-mile jog starts at 7 p.m.; the run at 7:20 p.m. (same time as Festival of Lights)

REGISTRATION: reindeerrunbr.com. Early bird registration is $20 for runners ages 6 to 17 and $25 for runners ages 18 and up. Every runner who registers by Nov. 1 is guaranteed a shirt in their size. Prices valid though Oct. 1, when fees are go up $5 per age class.
DETAILS: Participants are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to the United States Marines’ Toys for Tots program. Please, no weapon toys. Checks written out to “Toys for Tots” will also be accepted for donations.
