Donna Britt Day, benefiting the ALS Association Louisiana/Mississippi chapter, will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1.
The event will be held at White Oak Plantation and Farm, 17660 George O'Neal Road, Baton Rouge. Tickets are $25; $10 for children. Visit wafbtv.com/donna.
Britt, a longtime anchor on WAFB television, announced in July that she has amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or ALS.
Proceeds from the event, which will include food prepared by chef John Folse, go to the ALS Association Louisiana-Mississippi Chapter’s services, which include assistance with health care navigation; support groups for pALScq and their caregivers; a durable medical equipment and assistive technology loan closet; a multidisciplinary clinic; outreach to identify new patients; education and awareness; and advocacy efforts on a state and national level.
