Longtime Baton Rouge television personality Bill Black, known by most as 'Buckskin Bill,' rides in the 1967 Firemen's Parade in Addis. Black died Wednesday at 88.

"Remembering Buckskin Bill," a 30-minute special, will air at 6:30 p.m. Friday on WAFB, Channel 9 (cable Channel 7).

Black's children's shows, "Storyland" in the morning and "The Buckskin Bill Show" in the afternoon, aired weekdays on the Baton Rouge station from 1955 to 1988. Then, the show moved to Saturday mornings only, and was canceled a year later. Black retired from the station in 1990.  

Also at 6:30 p.m. Friday, WBRZ will take an in-depth look at the I-10 widening through Baton Rouge, discussing the project with state and local leaders and assessing its impact for residents and commuters.

WBRZ, Channel 2, is on cable Channel 5.
