Lil Wayne, the Grammy-winning, multi-platinum rapper, will perform at the Cajundome Jan. 29. The Lafayette show is part of the New Orleans rapper star’s 19-date “The Dedication Tour,” which also includes a Jan. 31 stop at the CenturyLink Center in Bossier City.
According to a press release, “The Dedication Tour” is a personal thank you from Lil Wayne, dedicated to his fans in cities he has rarely visited during earlier tours.
Lil Wayne released his latest mixtape, “Free Weezy Album,” July 4.
The 15-song “FWA” features guest appearances by Young Jeezy, Wiz Khalifa, Cory Gunz, Capo and others.
“I honestly gotta say that this #FWA album is my best work yet!” Wayne tweeted before “FWA’s” release.
Rae Sremmurd will be Lil Wayne’s special guest for the tour. Featuring brothers Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee, Rae Sremmurd released its debut album, “SremmLife,” in January. The album debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. Rae Sremmurd will stage their own festival, the first SremmFest, Dec. 18-Dec. 20 in their hometown, Tupelo, Mississippi.
