Live music plays on in the Baton Rouge area in the midst of yet another coronavirus surge. If you're heading out this weekend, please be cautious and social distance — it's important.

Here are our top three show picks:

  • Get your classic rock on with Three Dog Night at L'Auberge Event Center, 777 L'Auberge Ave., on Friday night. Formed in 1967, the band's hits include "Joy to the World," "One" and "Mama Told Me." The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $35 at ticketmaster.com.
  • Downtown, veteran country recording artist Doug Stone plays The Basin Music Hall,  also on Friday. In his 30-years music career, Stone has amassed eight No. 1 singles, including "In a Different Light," "A Jukebox with a Country Song" and "Too Busy Being in Love." Clifton Brown and the Rusty Bucket Band open the 9 p.m. show. Tickets are $25 at eventbrite.com.
  • For rockabilly fans, local band The Bedlamville Triflers are back on Phil Brady's stage (4848 Government St.) on Saturday. The show starts at 8 p.m. with opening act The Moonlight Conversion.
