With the Labor Day holiday looming, summer is pretty much done for, except for this weather. When will it end? What it does mean, though, is that the local social scene is heating up and our calendar is filling up fast.
On Thursday, Capital Area United Way celebrates the Power of Women at a breakfast at the L’Auberge Event Center. That evening, Preserve Louisiana hosts its Preservation Awards at the Old Governor’s Mansion. The night doubles as a celebration of the late Gov. Huey P. Long’s 125th birthday.
Also on the horizon, the first Bengal Belles luncheon of the season is Sept. 6 at L’Auberge and, that evening, Of Moving Colors will host its Twist & Shout Party. For more information on these and other events, search Pam’s Party Calendar at theadvocate.com.
