Karen Vingiello was sworn in as president of the Women’s Council of Greater Baton Rouge at its installation luncheon Jan. 8 at First Methodist Church. Also taking the oath of office from past President Kr istina Shapiro were Secretary Penny Stobaugh, Treasurer Mary Beth Groze, assistant Treasurer Sydney LeJeune, Historian Dee Mather-Muenzler and board members Aileen Hendrix, Kelly Lastrapes, Charlene Ourso, Frances Killen, Siobhan Leger, Melba Moyhe, Lluvia Peveto, Jaimie Smith and Emily Ziobor.
In other business, outgoing President Janel Chapman presented a check to June Harvey with First United Methodist Church in appreciation for the use of the church facilities for Women’s Council meetings throughout the year. The previous Silver Magnolia honorees in attendance were also recognized.
