Earlier this week, I returned from a much-needed beach vacation. On our last night, husband Jim and I visited with Sandy and Gary Young at their breath-taking home in Alys Beach.
After our Gary-guided tour, we joined the Youngs and guests Omar Manriquez, Josh Gary, Heather Mahoney and their families for a sunset bonfire and pizza party on the beach. The perfect way to end our trip!
‘Lost Shaker of Salt’
When I got back from my vacation, I had an email from friend Wendy Lipsey. Seems her son, Luke Shiroda, was spending some time in Aspen at the end of July and, while eating lunch, he spied none other than Jimmy Buffett, who once described his style of singing as "drunken Caribbean rock 'n' roll.”
A huge fan, Shiroda ran up to the music legend, introduced himself as a die-hard Parrot Head and got a photo of the two of them. Mom says Luke was left speechless, and if you’ve ever met Luke, you know speechless in NOT a word you’d use to describe him. After it was all over and Luke had had time to compose himself, he ventured Buffett may have found his “lost shaker of salt.”
“Luke says it was the best day of his life!,” added Wendy.
