Nearly 50 of this area’s finest new homes are on display this weekend and next in the Capital Region Builders Association’s 2018 Parade of Homes. The Parade offers the public a unique opportunity to explore the latest offerings from area homebuilders.

The Parade is free and open to the public. Homes will be open today and next Sunday from 1-5 p.m., and next Saturday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.

A complete list of homes being showcased is accessible by downloading the mobile phone app or by viewing the digital guidebook, which can be found at

“Events of this magnitude do not just happen overnight,” said Karen Zito, executive officer of CRBA. “The builders of this year’s tour have been working endlessly to prepare for the 2018 Parade of Homes and we are honored to be able to showcase their work of art,” she said. “The creative designs and architecture reflect the growing demands of how people desire to live at any stage of their lives.”

This year’s parade includes 36 subdivisions and 49 homes, crafted by builders who are diverse in technique and style, but share the common goal of building communities and creating a unified voice for the homebuilding industry.

The annual event features a diverse collection of homes that range from moderately priced residences to elegant mansions in exclusive neighborhoods. There are 15 homes being showcased in Baton Rouge, 11 in Prairieville, seven in Gonzales, five in Denham Springs, five in Central, three in Zachary, one in Pride, one in Plaquemine and one in St. Gabriel. The homes in this year’s parade range in price from $180,000 to $1.5 million.

Area homebuilders see the Parade as an opportunity to meet and stay in touch with local homebuyers, and many of the builders are present at their homes during the parade.

“Rabalais Homes is a proud participant in Parade of Homes,” said Homebuilder Steve Rabalais, who participates annually in the Parade. “It is a perfect opportunity to showcase the quality and detail in our homes, along with giving the consumers an idea of new products and new designs featured in our homes.”

The Parade is also a great opportunity for the community to view the latest trends, colors and architecture in home building, while also having the chance to meet the builders of the homes.
