Many of the homes in the Country Club of Louisiana are big beautiful mansions. The home at 19211 S. Lakeway Ave. is certainly beautiful, but at 2,600 square feet of living area, it’s just the right size for a couple or small family. A massive remodel was just completed, and today it’s like a brand-new home.
Situated on more than a half-acre lot at the corner of South Lakeway and West Muirfield, the home is beautifully redone. A remodel from the wall studs out, a complete pool and deck restoration, fresh paint, new flooring, new plumbing fixtures and all new appliances make this home, for all intents and purposes, brand new. It was originally built in the 1980s, but the renovations were completed just a few weeks ago.
A driveway that circles from South Lakeway around the front of the home to West Muirfield leads up to the front of the white brick home. Six live oaks guard the property, and crape myrtles are just beginning to flower.
Polished porcelain tile greets guests walking through the front door. Immediately, you’re in an expansive family area with a great view of the pool through frameless glass walls. It’s a “wow factor” effect right inside the front door.
Flooring through most of the home is beautiful oak planks stained in an ash gray color to match the white hues of the walls and cabinetry. The thing about this home, it’s bright and clean with beautiful lines of contrast. It’s also wide open; there are virtually no hallways in the home more than about six feet long.
The family room is two steps down from the foyer, the formal dining room and a corner bar. Glass walls at right angles provide an unobstructed view of the pool courtyard. It’s a sparking new pool and courtyard with a stucco privacy wall, which means no worries when using the outdoor shower. A hot tub bubbles into the pool from the far side.
The renovation of the home was total, according to owner/agent Ray Williams of The Land Company. “Every doorknob’s been changed. Every outlet’s been changed,” he said. The pool was completely redone, and cool decking tile added throughout the courtyard.
The family room is wide open, with a corner gas fireplace and great views of the pool. The adjacent dining space is in a cove for privacy, and a breakfast room with white brick accent walls is opposite the kitchen.
The kitchen is very bright with quartz countertops, subway tile backsplashes and white painted cabinetry. The quartz island is in a beautiful, coordinating gray color, and self-closing drawers are an upscale touch. New appliances include a 6-burner Wolf gas stove and a pot-filler below a custom hood, a stainless KitchenAid refrigerator and a microwave drawer in the island.
On the other side of the home, the master wing is spectacular. Two closets are along a short hall into the master bath, which is floored in porcelain tile. This bright bath features two vanities in one huge base, topped by a massive custom mirror. Dual rain heads are in the walk-in shower, and a slipper tub is below a large window that views a private side courtyard.
This is also a smart home with features governable by smart phones or tablets. If you’re looking to get into CCLA but don’t need a mansion, you should take a look at this beautiful residence.
