Several big changes are in store for Country Club Place, a gated townhome development just off the western edge of the Baton Rouge Country Club. Not the least of which is the availability of No. 8 Country Club Place, a three-story offering with more than 6,000 square feet of luxurious living area.
No. 8 may be one of the last townhomes available for a while in this uber-luxurious development off Brentwood Drive. New owners have decided to consolidate 14 townhome-sized lots inside the gates into 9 lots for single-family homes, according to Lisa Landers, the RE/MAX Professional broker marketing No. 8.
And there may not be many new lots left before too long either. Three of the nine remaining lots close this month, she said. The development remains highly-restricted, with minimum living area requirements of 2,500 square feet.
No. 8 is located just inside the development’s big iron entry gates, across from a common area with a fountain, the perfect area for parties and outdoor gatherings.
A Brazilian quartzite walkway leads through a lockable iron gate up to the entry door, which opens into a foyer with a custom staircase on the left. The home’s elevator – it goes all the way to the third floor – is near the stairs. The home’s center courtyard has a small pool with a cascading waterfall.
Double doors lead into the master suite, which is floored in wide antique heart pine planks. Built-in cabinetry and an entertainment center is along one wall, and windows are in the corners. The travertine master bath has two of everything: vanities, closets, toilets. It’s really two baths: one side with a pass-through shower with multiple body sprays and the other side with a 6-foot air bubbler tub.
Walk up the custom staircase – or push the button on the elevator – and you’ll be on the second floor, home to the kitchen, the living room, formal dining room and two bedrooms, each with a full bath. The second-floor bedrooms and baths are toward the back of the townhome, and the laundry is located here as well.
Wolf and SubZero supply the upscale appliances in this gourmet kitchen, which features 3cm granite on all countertops and the center island. A paneled SubZero perfectly matches the painted cabinetry, and a pot-filler is in the small travertine brick backsplashes.
Double pocket doors lead into the formal dining room, which separates the kitchen from the living room. The living room is an elegant setting with a huge stone fireplace and a wall of windows that overlooks the common grounds and gate below. From here, you can even watch golfers at the country club.
All interior doors in the home are 8-feet, and every floor has a beverage center with either an icemaker or a mini refrigerator. You don’t have to take the stairs or elevator if you’re looking for something refreshing to drink.
Finally, when it’s time for a movie or if you’re ready for a workout, head up to the third floor, where the home theater has its own wet bar, and the home gymnasium is filled with workout equipment. No movie tickets or health club dues required.
