Headed camping soon? How about Toledo Bend Reservoir?

There's a special promotion on stays in cabins and campsites at North Toledo Bend State Park and campsites at South Toledo Bend State Park through the end of the year, according to a news release from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, which oversees state parks.

Guests booking through April 21 for two nights at one of the two parks during 2019 will receive a third night free.

North Toledo Bend State Park is located 10 miles from Zwolle. Hiking and biking trails, camping and picnicking are available in the park's 900-plus acres. There's also a boat launch with boat rentals, and a full-size swimming pool.

At South Toledo Bend State Park, 24 miles northwest of Leesville, visitors can fish, hike, cycle, camp and swim. New sand is being brought in to prepare the beach for the summer season.

"Additionally, the area is a common nesting ground for the bald eagle and many other forms of wildlife in the area," the news release also says.
