John and Charlene Stovall, left, and Mary and Rick Martin, all of Baton Rouge, visit Fort San Carlos de la Cabana in Havana. The group traveled to Cuba by cruise ship from Miami. They also toured Old Havana, including The Malecón, Revolution Square and Colon Cemetery, known for its elaborate monuments to the dead. They walked the narrow cobblestone streets, seeing centuries-old Spanish architecture, well-landscaped plazas dotted with modern sculptures, beautiful churches, fancy tourist hotels, and a constant procession of 1950s cars, Charlene Stovall said.
