Appropriately-named mama goat 'Drama' gave birth to six Boer goat kids on April 8, 2019 and owners Suzy Garlington and husband Neil Garlington think that might may be a Guinness World Record number for surviving, same-litter Boer goat births. Drama had given birth twice before, always twins, but this time there was a big surprise. 'We though we might lose the mom, who had a temperature of 107.1 F, and problems passing her placenta,' Suzy said, 'and one of the kids, 'Bunny,' was small, and we were worried about her too.' The Boer goat is a breed that was developed in South Africa in the early 1900s for meat production; its name is derived from the Afrikaans (Dutch) word boer, meaning farmer. 'There's a Nigerian Dwarf goat birth litter of seven surviving kids on Youtube, but we think this might be a record for Boers,' she said. For the record, the kids' names are Dippin' Dot, Chocolate Chip, Bunny, D.J. (Drama Jr.), Lilly, and Clean Up Man.
