Companion Animal Alliance, the nonprofit that has run the EBR city-parish animal shelter since 2011, will relocate soon from its current facility near the Baton Rouge Metro Airport, to a new state-of-the-art facility near LSU's School of Veterinary Medicine, which will help amp up field training there for LSU students. A greater use of soothing natural light, new kennels designed for a more peaceful environment for dogs (and people), larger intake and surgery areas, enhanced cat areas and a covered pavilion available for animal care and processing after natural disasters are just some of the improvements.
