LSU's Tiger Stadium was covered with a tarp Wednesday after vandals broke into the locked field late Tuesday and damaged the grass, according to university officials.
Michael Bonnette, LSU's sports information director, said the damage was "minimal" and "nothing that can't be corrected."
"The good thing about grass is that it grows back," Bonnette said.

He added that the LSU Police Department is conducting an investigation into exactly what happened.
The stadium is not scheduled for use for nearly four months, until a spring game in April.

This is the second time the field has been damaged in recent months. Two 18-year-old Alabama students broke into the stadium in early November and damaged the eye of the tiger at midfield.
