The Dunham School’s Liz Peters Master Teacher Endowment Committee hosted a jazz brunch at the City Club on Nov. 15 to honor the school’s Master Teacher Award recipients and to raise support for the program’s endowment.

Master teachers honored at the brunch included Mary Ellen Courville, Pam Fletcher, Beth Alford, Sheri Goings and John Gray.

Gray, a jazz musician, provided musical entertainment along with Michael Foster and Chris Lee. Speakers included Bill Peters, Patti Peters Dowling, Head of School Steve Eagleton, Master Teacher 2009 Ellen Courville and Endowment Chairman Scott Bardwell.

The endowment began in 2008 through a donation from Nanette Noland and is named for the first teacher hired by The Dunham School.

It provides supplemental income for teachers who have demonstrated excellence in teaching.
