A Baton Rouge woman is facing a second-degree murder charge in the December killing of her 23-year-old boyfriend at their Fairchild Street home.
An East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury on Thursday indicted Jalisa Lashae Wilson, also 23, in the death of Reginald Lee, who was shot in the chest.
Wilson told detectives she shot Lee in self-defense Dec. 30 after he physically attacked her, according to a police report. But police said Wilson exhibited no physical signs of having been attacked and there were no indications a struggle had occurred in the house.
Police also said Wilson, 1634 Fairchild St., gave several inconsistent statements.
A second-degree murder conviction would carry a mandatory sentence of life in prison. The case has been assigned to state District Judge Tony Marabella.
