A 2-year-old girl in Haughton was killed Saturday morning when severe storms caused a tree to fall on her family's RV.

The girl's death occurred about 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning, according to a release from the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office. An image showed the family's recreational vehicle, which was torn nearly in half by the tree.

The RV was located within the Hill Crest Mobile Home and RV Park on Highway 80.

The girl was sleeping at the time. Four adults, as well as a 15-month old child were also in the RV at the time; none were hurt, the release said.

Severe storms were expected to impact much of Louisiana throughout the day, with possible tornadoes and hail for southeastern Louisiana. The girl's death was the only fatality reported of the day Saturday as of 8:45 a.m.
