Five local girls with The Crowning Moment competed in Virginia Beach, Virginia, July 20-25 against 300 contestants for six international queen titles. International Junior Miss pageants are held for girls ages 4 to 24.
Competition included interview, fun fashion and evening gown. Side competitions included talent, media correspondent, casual wear, spokesmodel, photogenic, photo shoot model, volunteerism, academics and more, a news release said.
Caitlin Hager, of Baton Rouge, won first place in Princess talent with her vocal performance of “Defying Gravity,” Queen in spokesmodel and won the national queens’ title of America’s Junior Miss Princess plus $850 in scholarships. She placed in the top 15 of the Princess division overall.
Kailah Fresina, of Zachary, won fourth place in Junior Princess talent with her vocal performance, “With a Smile and a Song.”
Ailynn Fresina, of Zachary, won the National Appearance Award for making the most appearances against all of the contestants in the princess division. There were at least 50 girls in the group.
Other competitors were Layna Baker, of Baker, and Anna Claire Reily, of Baton Rouge.
