The Louisiana Partnership for Children and Families, a nonprofit advocacy organization, was recently presented with a Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Angels of Change award, an honor that highlights innovative advocacy in support of Louisiana’s children.
The partnership was awarded funding to coordinate the development and dissemination of the Louisiana Platform for Children, a report that outlines for policy makers recommendations and evidence-based practices that can work to build stronger futures for children in Louisiana, a news release said.
At a recent meeting, Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation President Michael Tipton presented the award grant to Dr. Stewart Gordon, an advocate for children, and a 1997 Angel Award winner. Gordon nominated the Louisiana Partnership for Children and Families to apply for the grant. The Angels of Change grant was awarded to former BCBSLA Foundation Angel award recipients, commemorating the 20th year of the awards.
Meetings were held statewide in the fall to discuss the findings outlined in the Louisiana Platform for Children. More information on the Platform for Children and upcoming meetings is available at www.louisianapartnership.org.
