The East Baton Rouge Parish Library’s Summer Reading Program is coming to an end. Readers are encouraged to bring their Summer Reading logs to turn in for prize incentives.

This week’s super hero station features a superhero obstacle course, along with a superhero ID card upon completion.

The program, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at the River Center Branch, is for children ages 3 to 11. Groups must register. For information, call (225) 389-4959.

Mounted Patrol

The Baton Rouge Police Force brings its Mounted Patrol Unit for demonstrations to the Carver Branch Library from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

Wills and probates

Wills and probate records can be powerful tools to trace your family tree and discover details of your ancestors’ lives.

A class from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Main Library will cover the various types of probate records, where to find them and what they contain.

African-American genealogy

The Eden Park Branch Library will hold a special class on researching African-American ancestry, which includes search techniques and special records collections, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday.

African-Americans were routinely excluded from many records that could have documented details of their daily lives as a result of slavery, prejudice and discrimination.

Super Movie Marathon

A three-day showing of Marvel’s “Iron Man” movie series will be featured at the Carver Branch Library from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday .
