BancorpSouth, which has 24 Louisiana locations including five in the Baton Rouge area, said Wednesday a reorganization of the company’s senior management responsibilities and reporting structure will affect the entire senior management group, from the community bank system and mortgage business to wealth management and leasing and equipment financing.

Chris A. Bagley has been named president and chief operating officer of the Tupelo, Miss.-based company. He succeeds James V. Kelley, whose retirement, effective Aug. 15, was announced earlier this year.

The reorganization’s changes include a new “Business Development” team, which includes banking, mortgage, insurance, wealth management, and leasing & equipment finance.

BancorpSouth said the new structure will streamline operations and better cooperation.
