First-time claims for unemployment insurance in Louisiana for the week ending June 6 increased to 3,368 from the previous week’s total of 3,299.
For the comparable week a year earlier, there were 3,292, the stte labor department said.
The four-week moving average, which is a less volatile measure of claims, increased to 3,149 from the previous week’s total of 3,016.
Continued unemployment claims for the week ending June 6 increased to 25,287 compared to 23,706 the previous week. The four-week moving average for such claims increased to 23,851 from the previous week’s average of 23,247.
