BATON ROUGE AREA
Advertising and public relations firm Zehnder Communications has named Henry Chassaignac of its Nashville, Tennessee, office as president and executive creative director. The New Orleans native will share executive duties with Chief Executive Officer Jeff Zehnder in Baton Rouge, overseeing the company’s offices in Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Nashville.
The company said the new structure will help the company continue its growth in recent years, especially in the Nashville market.
Chassaignac joined Zehnder’s New Orleans office in 1999, moved to Nashville in 2005 and formed his own boutique agency. He rejoined Zehnder in 2010 as creative director and opened the agency’s Nashville office.
Julie Miller has been named development director of City Year Baton Rouge.
She was senior development manager for the organization and previously a field representative for the American Federation of Teachers, working in the East Baton Rouge Parish school district.
City Year is a national education organization that places young people in high-need schools for a year of service. City Year Baton Rouge deploys 72 AmeriCorps members into seven schools, reaching more than 3,200 students per day.
Karen Henderson has returned as host of the Morning Edition program at 89.3 WRKF-FM, Baton Rouge’s National Public Radio station.
Henderson hosted the show from 1998 to 2008. She has experience as a journalist, host and producer for more than two decades, having produced and hosted programs for Louisiana Public Broadcasting, Louisiana Radio Network and WJBO.
NEW ORLEANS AREA
Dr. Felix “Buddy” H. Savoie, chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics at Tulane, was installed as president of the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association.
The statewide association is comprised of board-certified or board-eligible orthopedic surgeons, orthopedic residents and ancillary health care providers.
Liz Williams has joined the Foundation for Louisiana as Coastal Communities Resiliency Program officer, managing its work in Louisiana’s coastal region and leading the development of the Coastal Resiliency Leverage Fund.
Williams will work with the Coastal Resiliency Advisory Committee and foundation partners on effective practices and policy strategies. Williams was a research fellow and affiliate at LSU’s Coastal Sustainability Studio.
