Partners at personal injury law firm Dudley DeBosier have purchased a Beauregard Town office building for nearly $2.07 million with plans to move the firm’s support staff to the building.
DePeltier International LLC bought the building at 320 Somerulos St. in two transactions that were filed Wednesday with the East Baton Rouge Clerk of Court’s office. DePeltier is made up of Steven DeBosier, Chad Dudley and James H. Peltier Jr., the three partners at the firm.
The 21,000-square-foot building is just a few blocks from Dudley DeBosier’s office at 1075 Government St. and near the 19th Judicial District Court building and the Baton Rouge City Court building.
Dudley said the plan is to move the law firms’ support staff into the new building, including departments such as billing, marketing and medical records. “We’ve had a lot of growth, rapid growth, and we have people piled up on each other,” he said.
A year ago, Dudley, DeBosier and Peltier bought their Government Street offices for $2.3 million with an eye toward expanding the property. Dudley said plans were changed once a spot downtown was found.
The three-story office building on Somerulos is vacant. Dudley said his firm will take up most of the space; plans call for it to be the only tenant.
Dudley DeBosier has 28 attorneys and a total of 85 employees. The final number of workers in the Somerulos offices has not been determined, he said.
