Megan Watson has been named a senior audit certified public accountant with TWRU CPAs & Financial Advisors.
Watson has worked as a staff accountant in the audit department for five years. In her new role, she will lead and coach audit teams.
Starmount Life Insurance Co., the dental and vision center for Unum, has named Leston Welsh as vice president of operations and Sanjeev Sah as technology capability officer in two newly created positions in Baton Rouge.
Welsh will oversee the administration of dental and vision benefits, as well as facilities management. Sah oversees all Starmount information technology functions and its collaborations with Unum’s global IT services.
Since 2015, Welsh served as the vice president of operations and market development for Unum’s individual disability insurance business in Worcester, Massachusetts. Sah, who has lived in Baton Rouge for the past eight years, was IT director and chief information security officer at Texas Children’s Hospital.
Susan Whitelaw, of Shreveport, and Randy Ewing, of Quitman, have been named chair and chair-elect, respectively, of the LSU Alumni Association global board of directors.
Whitelaw, a partner in Whitelaw, Rice & Green CPAs, represents District 5. Ewing, a former Louisiana state senator and president of Ewing Timber, also was re-elected to a three-year term representing District 6.
Other members re-elected for three-year terms are Kathy Fives, a business consultant in New Orleans representing District 2; Karen Brack, of San Diego, an airborne electronic hardware engineer at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, at-large; Steve Brown, of Sherman, Oaks, California, a retired western U.S. sales manager for Sundyne LLC, at-large; and Brandon Landry, co-founder and co-owner of Last in Concepts and Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar, at-large.

Maria Pote has been promoted to executive director of Longue Vue House and Gardens.
Pote succeeds Tony Chauveaux, who was appointed deputy chairman for programs and partnerships at the National Endowment for the Arts.
Pote has been Longue Vue’s director of new business and development since May, helping to triple revenue. She has 10 years of experience in securities litigation and 10 years in sales and leadership with Eli Lilly.
Founded by philanthropists Edith and Edgar Stern, Longue Vue is a historic estate featuring a house museum, decorative arts collection and eight acres of gardens that include an interactive Discovery Garden for children.
The Louisiana District Judges Association elected Judge C. Wendell Manning, 4th Judicial District Court in Ouachita and Morehouse parishes, as president.
Other officers are Judge Lisa Woodruff-White, East Baton Rouge Family Court, first vice president; Judge Guy Bradberry, 14th Judicial District Court in Lake Charles, second vice president; Judge Brady O'Callaghan, 1st Judicial District Court in Shreveport, secretary; Judge Piper Griffin, Orleans Civil District Court, treasurer; and Judge John J. Molaison, 24th Judicial District Court in Shreveport, immediate past president.
