Hancock Whitney has named veteran banking executive John L. Daniel as Baton Rouge market president.
Daniel was with JPMorgan Chase as an executive director, senior commercial banker and senior vice president. Daniel’s banking career also includes vice presidencies in commercial and real estate lending at Chase and commercial and correspondent banking roles at the former Hibernia Bank.
Hancock Whitney Senior Regional President Robert Schneckenburger said Daniel brings 35-plus years of senior-level banking experience to Hancock Whitney and will be a strong influence in guiding the company’s continued growth. He also cited Daniel's civic and cultural service and commitment to greater Baton Rouge.
The LSU graduate holds bachelor’s degrees in management and administration as well as marketing. He is a fellow of the LSU Academy of Politics, a certified municipal financial professional and registered Louisiana lobbyist.
Daniel has served as a director, executive officer or committee member for local organizations such as Baton Rouge Rotary, Baton Rouge Area Chamber of Commerce, American Red Cross, Junior Achievement, Capital Area United Way, Boy Scouts of America, YMCA, CABL, Louisiana Association of Business and Industry, Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana, Mortgage Bankers Association of Baton Rouge, LSU Business and Technology Incubator, LSU University College Advisory Board and Forever LSU Cabinet.
