Verizon Wireless has expanded its newest technology, known as XLTE, to boost 4G LTE network capacity and enhance high-speed services for customers in Lafayette, Alexandria, Houma-Thibodaux, Hammond and New Iberia.

XLTE utilizes Verizon’s Advanced Wireless Services spectrum to at least double existing capacity over its 4G LTE network. The company said the upgrade helps customers in high-traffic locations send photos, download videos, surf the Internet and use other popular applications on their smartphones, tablets and other devices during times of peak usage.
