Kirk Boudreaux has announced his campaign for reelection to the Gonzales City Council's Division B seat.
“Gonzales has so much to be proud of when you look at how we have continued to grow and prosper," he said in a campaign announcement. "Our quality of life is constantly improving and our city has made great economic progress in spite of some challenges. This progress is the result of our elected officials working together. I have always put the priorities of the citizens of Gonzales first and I pledge to continue to do so."
During his tenure, the city has continued to improve its road infrastructure, widening its streets at major intersections, the release said. Working with the Ascension Economic Development Corporation Board, of which he is a member, Boudreaux has helped to bring several new retail outlets as well as restaurants to the city.
Boudreaux said he is firmly committed to the continued enhancement of the city’s athletic and recreational facilities. He supports the Gonzales City Police Department and the Gonzales Fire Department; and he is extremely proud of the state-of-the-art buildings and equipment of each of those departments.
Boudreaux said he has represented "all citizens of all races" for the past 12 years and looks forward to continuing that service with honesty and integrity. Elected by his fellow councilmen, Boudreaux currently serves as the city’s mayor pro tem and is the city’s treasurer.
Boudreaux, a lifelong resident of Gonzales, is married to Melanie Espey Boudreaux and has two married sons, Tate Boudreaux and Joel Boudreaux. He is the grandparent of two grandsons and one granddaughter.
