Hurricane Delta moved up homecoming week festivities at St. Amant High and the novel coronavirus changed a few other traditions.

The coronavirus forced school officials to turn the annual homecoming parade into a caravan, which prohibited riders from throwing trinkets or candy and encouraged social distancing for bystanders. However, the Gator Nation homecoming traditions continued.

After the caravan, a pep rally was held at The Pit, where the king and queen were crowned. Many students and visitors wore masks and practiced social distancing.

The football game was moved from Friday to Thursday night.
