St. Amant High School recently received eight $1,000 grants and one $2,500 grant from the Ascension Fund, a news release said.
The $2,500 School Impact grant will be used to assist and train teachers through Princeton Review to prepare students for the ACT. It is the third year in a row that the school has received this grant, Principal Mia Edwards said in the release.

Melissa McCormick: funding the community-based project Wounded Warriors, organized by business English students
Nicole Tanner: Princeton Review math materials for ACT prep classes
Holly Eubank and Karen Murphy: Princeton Review English materials for ACT prep classes
Tara Jones: improve ACT for talented and gifted students
Elizabeth Wallace: funding for choir summer camp for middle school students.
The school will hold an ACT parent night on Sept. 16.
